Pirelli Cinturato All Road 40 road bike tire on a rolling resistance test machine

The Pirelli Cinturato All Road is a slightly cheaper addition to Pirelli's Cinturato range of bicycle tires. As the name suggests, the Cinturato All Road isn't a full-on gravel bike tire but is intended to cover a much broader range of conditions, from tarmac and hard-pack to light gravel conditions. Together with the Cinturato All Road, Pirelli also launched the Cinturato Adventure, which is the same construction but comes with a more knobby tread pattern.

What's important to note is that the Cinturato All Road isn't a "Cinturato Gravel" tire, and it's made to a cheaper price point. To bring the price down, it's manufactured outside of Europe and comes with a 60 TPI casing instead of the 127 TPI we're used to seeing on the Cinturato Gravel range. The compound is also different as we find the "Pro Compound" on the Cinturato All Road instead of the SpeedGrip compound we're used to seeing on the Cinturato Gravel tires.

As Pirelli's Cinturato Gravel tires with their 127 TPI casing and SpeedGrip compound often perform strongly in our tests, we're really curious about what Pirelli can accomplish at a cheaper price point.

The Cinturato All Road is available in many different sizes, and all sizes are available with "classic" sidewalls. This is a test of the 40-622 size with black sidewalls, and we'll compare it against Pirelli's Cinturato Velo (read our review) and Gravel H (read our review), M (read our review), RC (read our review), and some other tires from the competition.

The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width.

All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs.

Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load.

The Pirelli Cinturato All Road doesn't show the strong overall performance we're used to seeing in our other tests of Pirelli bicycle tires. The slightly lower overall performance probably comes from not using the best-performing materials, as Pirelli manufactures the Cinturato All Road tire at a lower price point.

The strongest point of the Cinturato All Road is its performance in the puncture resistance tests of both the center of the tread and the sidewalls. When setting these tires up tubeless with sealant, they should be bulletproof and last for a long time, thanks to the thick tread and sidewalls.

We noticed the Cinturato All Road is still pricey, with street prices only slightly lower than Pirelli's more expensive Cinturato Gravel tires. They may come down over the next few months as they're still quite new right now.
