- Schwalbe G-One RS Pro (black) 45
(100% is best)

After testing the Schwalbe G-One RS Pro with black sidewalls in the 40 mm size (read our review) and the 50 mm size with transparent sidewalls (read our review), we're now going to take a look at how the 45 mm version performs in our tests. The 40 mm version performed extremely fast in our rolling resistance tests, while the 50 mm version was somewhat disappointing in this regard. We wonder to what extent the color of the sidewalls plays a role here, and we hope to provide some answers to this question.

Due to its speed, the G-One RS has been one of the most popular tires on our website since its initial release in 2022. Due to its speed, we're not surprised that our Pro Members want to know everything about the latest "Pro" versions with Addix Race compound. We also tested the previous "Super Race" version of the G-One RS in sizes 35, 40, 45, and observed that these tires were used in many comparisons on our website.
For more information about the new G One RS Pro, we recommend reviewing our test of the 40 mm version (read our review). Let's quickly move on to the test results of the 45 mm version of the G-One RS Pro with black sidewalls and compare its performance to that of other versions, as well as a selection of tires from competitors.

The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Schwalbe G-One RS Pro (black) 45
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
The 45 mm sample we tested of the G-One RS Pro lags significantly behind the 40 mm sample (read our review). We observe a significantly higher rolling resistance than the 40 mm sample we tested earlier this year, and we also notice a poorer result in our wet grip tests. Even in comparison with the 50 mm version with transparent sidewalls, we see poorer performance, and we cannot yet draw any conclusions about the differences between the transparent and black sidewalls of the G-One RS Pro.
We suspect that the reduced performance is due to a compound mix that has not turned out well. Unfortunately, we have seen inconsistent results from Schwalbe since the introduction of their Addix compounds in 2017. We hoped that this would no longer be the case with the latest tires, but unfortunately, we must conclude that you still need a bit of luck to get an extremely fast sample when buying their tires.
We have tested many tires by now, and other brands can deliver a more consistent performance. When compared to other tires, even this 45 mm version of the G One RS Pro is not a bad tire, but it's best to assume the performance of these tires can be anywhere between the 40 and 45 mm versions.
