- Schwalbe G-One RX Pro (black) 55 2.15
Gravel bike tires keep getting bigger and bigger, and it's no surprise that Schwalbe launched a 55 mm version of their G-One RX Pro gravel bike tire. Even though this is a gravel bike tire, we've moved it to the MTB section so we can compare the G-One RX Pro to similar-sized mountain bike tires.
The G-One RX is a relatively new addition to Schwalbe's G-One line of gravel bike tires, and, together with the R and RS, it is available in the "Pro" version, which performs excellently in our tests. We have already tested the RX in the previously released 40, 45, and 50 mm sizes, and we've known for some time that the RX nicely complements the R and RS. You really don't need more than these three tires for 90% of gravel bike conditions.
We previously tested the 55 mm version of the G-One RS Pro, and we are now waiting for the 55 mm version of the G-One R. The RS performed well in the 55 mm size when we compared it with mountain bike tires of a similar size, but its strongest point was the unique tread pattern of the RS. The RX has a more standard tread pattern, so there are many more mountain bike tires with similar tread patterns available.
Like the 55 mm G-One RS, the 55 mm RX is only available in a fully black version. The smaller versions are available in both black and transparent, but it wouldn't surprise us if Schwalbe later releases a transparent sidewall version of the 55 mm RX Pro.
Let's quickly take a look at how the 55 mm G-One RX Pro performs when we compare it to the best-performing mountain bike tires.

| The MTB section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Schwalbe G-One RX Pro (black) 55 2.15
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
The 55 mm G-One RX Pro rolls just as fast as the 55 mm RS Pro that we tested earlier, indicating that the tread pattern of the G-One Pro tires does not make a significant difference on hard surfaces. However, when we compare the 55 mm RX Pro with the smaller sizes, the trend is clear: the larger versions roll slower than the smaller versions on hard surfaces.
The G-One RX Pro is a solid all-round tire because it has no major weaknesses besides the low hard-surface center grip. The biggest issue we see with the 55 mm G-One RX Pro is competition from mountain bike tires with a similar tread pattern and the same volume in the 2.2 or 2.25 size.
