- Schwalbe G-One Speed Pro

The G-One Speed Pro is a brand-new edition of the G-One Speed, and it now comes with Schwalbe's Addix Race compound, known as one of their fastest compounds. We didn't test any of the previous editions of the G-One Speed with Addix compounds in the large 29x2.35 / 60-622 size. We did test its forefather back in 2016, the Schwalbe Big One, which featured the LiteSkin casing and legendary PaceStar triple compound.

When we compare the latest G-One Speed Pro with the old Big One, we see that the Big One was even lighter and came with much thinner sidewalls. That Big One was a first-generation tubeless-ready mountain bike tire, and back in those days, the sidewalls of most mountain bike tires were significantly thinner than today's tires, which often come with a more robust casing and better sealing capabilities.
It should also be noted that the 29x2.35 / 60-622 size of the G-One Speed Pro is a vastly different tire than the smaller sizes typically used on gravel bikes. The largest version is sometimes also considered a tire for beach racing, and it's built much thinner and lighter than the smaller versions, which come with better-protected casings and different compounds.
The latest edition of the big G-One Speed is now part of Schwalbe's Pro series, and based on our previous tests of tires from this series, that's promising, as we've seen very strong results from those tires. It also comes from a different factory in a different country than Schwalbe's older tires, which were manufactured in Indonesia for as long as we can remember.
Let's dive into the test results of the G-One Speed Pro and compare it to the old Big One LiteSkin. We've also included some other mountain bike tires in the comparison, but it was challenging to find comparable tires, as most manufacturers do not offer a tire like the G-One Speed.

Conclusion
- Schwalbe G-One Speed Pro
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
If you're looking for the fastest "big" tire, the G-One Speed Pro in the 29x2.35 / 60-622 is absolutely the tire you're looking for. Our test results show the G-One Speed Pro rolls as fast as the best "all round" road bike tires with a rolling resistance of less than 10 watts at the higher end of the air pressure range. Only pure time-trial 25-28 mm road bike tires that are made to save that last second will roll faster than the G-One Speed Pro.
Of course, you'll pay the price in terms of tread puncture resistance and tread thickness, as both are very low on the G-One Speed Pro. At least you'll have a lot of air volume and surface contact area, which will make those low scores less of a problem than with smaller, higher-pressure road bike tires. With enough sealant, these should be pretty good in that regard.
When compared to the old Big One, the G-One Pro rolls just as fast, even though both the tread thickness and sidewalls have been beefed up. The main drawback is evident in the weight department, where the G-One Speed Pro comes in 60 to 90 grams heavier than the Big One.
