- Vittoria Terreno XC Race 2.4
The Terreno XC Race is Vittoria's fastest mountain bike tire, made for dry, hardpack conditions, and it's easily recognized by its fish-scale center tread. Vittoria also uses the Terreno name for all of their gravel bike tires, and the MTB Terreno is a bit of a crossover tire that can be a good choice if you're looking for a gravel tire for your mountain bike.
We already tested a few other tires from Vittoria's "XC Race" lineup (Peyote XC Race, Mezcal XC Race, Barzo XC Race), and our tests show they've made significant progress compared to their previous-generation mountain bike tires. The biggest gain looks to come from the new Race Formulation Graphene + Silica compound, which combines low rolling resistance, high speed, and durability.
Just like the other XC Race tires, the Terreno XC Race comes with a tubeless-ready 60 TPI nylon casing that's flexible and light but still seals well when set up tubeless. Vittoria also offers the Terreno with their Trail casing, which offers additional protection on both the tread and sidewalls.
Vittoria did a great job making their XC Race tires available with both black and brown sidewalls in both sizes: 29x2.25 and 29x2.40. We've tested the 29x2.4 size with black sidewalls and will compare it to the Vittoria Peyote XC Race, Barzo XC Race, Mezcal XC Race, and a range of similar tires from competing manufacturers.

| The MTB section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Vittoria Terreno XC Race 2.4
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
The Vittoria Terreno XC Race is an excellent choice if you're looking for a tire that combines low rolling resistance with good wet hard-surface wet grip and above-average tread puncture resistance. The main weakness we found is the sidewalls, which are lighter and more prone to punctures than we've grown used to with tubeless-ready tires over the past 5-10 years. If you need more protection, Vittoria's XC Trail casing should be a significant upgrade in puncture resistance.
We see the Schwalbe Thunder Burt and the new 55 mm Schwalbe G-One RS Pro as the main competitors to the Terreno XC Race. When we compare the Terreno to those tires, they all have their own areas where they have an edge over each other.
The Terreno is an excellent addition to Vittoria's XC Race tire range.
