- Schwalbe Thunder Burt Super Ground Addix Speed

We have known the Schwalbe Thunder Burt for many years now, and it has consistently been one of the fastest options for mountain bike tires. Over the years, we have seen many versions of this tire come and go, and this time, we will take a look at the Super Ground Addix Speed version in the 29x2.10 size, which is interesting not only for mountain bikes but also looks good on a gravel bike.

We have previously tested the 29x2.10 size of the Super Race version (read our review) of the Thunder Burt, and we can now directly compare it with the Super Ground version in the same size. We also tested the 2.25 version of the Thunder Burt Super Ground earlier (read our review), which allows us to make another interesting comparison.
We also find it interesting to compare it with the Schwalbe Rick XC Pro (read our review), which is a tire from Schwalbe's latest "Pro" generation. We do not know if a Pro version of the Thunder Burt will come, but we would be very curious to see how it would perform. Our test results will determine whether going for the Thunder Burt at this point is still interesting or if it's better to jump to Schwalbe's latest generation of mountain bike tires.

Conclusion
- Schwalbe Thunder Burt Super Ground Addix Speed
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
We are not impressed with the 29x2.10 version of the Schwalbe Thunder Burt Super Ground Addix Speed. It gets off to a bad start with a measured weight of 613 grams, while the specifications state it should be 550 grams. The rolling resistance is also much higher than that of the 2.25 Super Ground (read our review) and the 2.10 Super Race (read our review) versions of the Thunder Burt we tested earlier.
Also, when we compare the Thunder Burt with the Schwalbe Rick XC Pro (read our review), using the same Addix Speed compound, we see that the Rick XC is a better-performing tire in all respects. However, the Rick XC is not available in the narrower 2.10 size, so we imagine that if you're looking for a narrow mountain bike tire, you still end up with the Thunder Burt.
You must be lucky to get a perfect sample of the Thunder Burt. When we look at our test results and compare the Super Ground and Super Race casings, we would always choose the Super Race casing, as it simply performs better in all our tests.
Compare the Thunder Burt 29x2.10 with Super Race and Super Ground casings side-by-side on our comparison section.
