The new Eagle F1 RS and Eagle F1 SuperSport RS are Goodyear's 3rd-generation tires since the 1st-generation Eagle F1 (read our review) was released in 2020. The updated R versions from 2023 (Eagle F1 R, Eagle F1 SuperSport R) were a solid improvement over the original Eagle F1 / Eagle F1 SuperSport and featured a completely new casing design and a new UHP compound. The RS versions evolve the R and feature a new Power Tensile casing material, Advanced Profile construction, and an updated UUHP (Ultra Ultra High Performance) compound.

We've seen continued improvements in tire performance over the past few years, with several new brands entering the high-performance tire market. Staying competitive in this field requires investment in research and development, and with Goodyear now on its 3rd-generation tire, it's obvious they take performance seriously. Our tests confirm the new SuperSport RS has jumped another level, and it's now Goodyear's first tire we rate 5 out of 5.
Another change that has accelerated in the past 3 years is the move toward wider tires and rims, and the Eagle F1 SuperSport RS has been updated accordingly. The 25 mm size has been dropped in favor of the larger 32 mm size, and the SuperSport RS is now available in 28-622, 30-622, and 32-622. This update also addresses wider rims, with the most visible change being the wider tread compared to previous generations.
The SuperSport version of the Eagle F1 is a true time-trial/race-day-only tire that sacrifices puncture protection and durability for that last gain in rolling resistance. The RS version doubles down on that, with reduced tread thickness, making it one of the thinnest tires on the market. If you don't fully understand this tire's market positioning, we recommend the non-SuperSport Eagle F1 RS, which is made for all-round performance.
We've tested the 28 mm Eagle F1 SuperSport RS, and we're going to compare it to the previous-generation SuperSport R and the fastest-rolling tires from competing manufacturers you can buy today.

Conclusion
- Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport RS TLR 28
(100% is best)
The Eagle F1 SuperSport RS has significantly reduced rolling resistance compared with the previous-generation R, and it's now the 2nd fastest rolling-road bike tire you can buy today. It rolls slower than the Vittoria Corsa Pro Speed, but the Vittoria is even thinner and more vulnerable to tread and sidewall punctures. We do see a sharp rolling-resistance curve, with rolling resistance increasing more than its nearest competitors; if you run very low pressures, that might be a deciding factor.
Both puncture resistance and tread thickness have decreased a hair over the previous-generation SuperSport R, which makes it even more evident this is a time-trial/race-day-only tire. On the other hand, the sidewalls are extremely tough for a time-trial tire, which gives it a slightly unbalanced feel and is probably why rolling performance suffers at very low air pressures.
Overall wet grip has dropped a bit, but that's because the center grip test dropped 7 points while edge grip rose 1 point. We consider wet grip less important for time-trial tires, and 70-ish points for both tread and edge grip is probably still good enough for most conditions. We also see tread width has been brought up to modern standards, which might help a bit in the edge-grip test as well.
We position the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport between the Continental Grand Prix 50000 TT TR and the Pirelli P Zero Race TLR SL-R for race-day performance.
