The Pro One Allroad is a new tire from Schwalbe, replacing the G-One Speed, and features the same tread pattern that once marked the beginning of the G-One range of gravel bike tires. As the name suggests, the Pro One Allroad is made for a wide range of conditions that vary from slippery wet spring classics to long rides over partially unpaved roads.

Why Schwalbe changed the G-One name to Pro One for the new Allroad is unknown to us, but it's probably because the tread pattern works better on-road than off-road. Along with the new name, Schwalbe completely redesigned the Pro One Allroad, and it now comes with their latest tubeless-ready 67 TPI Race Pro casing, an improved, wider V-Guard anti-puncture strip, and their fast Addix Race compound.

The specifications match those of the popular G-One RS Pro, G-One R Pro, and G-One RX Pro line of gravel bike tires, and it's safe to say the Pro One Allroad should perform similarly to those tires. The big difference will be the tread pattern, which is much less knobby than the gravel bike tires in the G-One range, and it means you basically have an extra choice between the full slick Pro One road bike tire and the G-One RS Pro.

Size-wise, Schwalbe currently offers the Pro One Allroad in the 35-622, 40-622, and 45-622 sizes, which should meet most people's needs for this type of tire. Unlike the G-One range, there's no transparent sidewall option available so if you're into that more classic look, you're out of luck here.

We've tested the 40-622 Schwalbe Pro One Allroad and have compared it to the G-One RS (read our review), G-One R (read our review), G-One Speed (read our review), Pro One TLR 38-622 (read our review), and a range of similar tires from competing brands.

The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width.

All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs.

Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load.

When we compare the new Pro One Allroad to the old G-One Speed (read our review), the Allroad is the faster tire, and we're confused, as the performance doesn't feel 'natural' given the names of those tires. The old G-One Speed (at least the smaller gravel sizes; the big MTB sizes are completely different tires) was much slower, but offered much better puncture resistance than the name suggested.

The new Pro One Allroad's performance is now more in line with the new G-One Pro tires: fast, but they do not offer much tread puncture resistance. When we compare the Allroad to the G-One RS Pro (read our review), we see the G-One RS outperforming the Allroad in almost all our tests. We only recommend the Pro One Allroad if you need better on-road cornering, as its tread pattern is better suited to hard surfaces.
