Vittoria Terreno Dry TNT G+ 2.0 33 road bike tire on a rolling resistance test machine

The Vittoria Terreno Dry G + is a cx/gravel tire with low knobs in the middle and higher knobs ascending to the sides. It is available in both tubular and tube-type versions, although the differences are significant. The tubular version uses a 320 TPI cotton casing while the tube-type version uses a more common Nylon 120 TPI tubeless-ready (TNT) casing.

In this review we focus on the Nylon 120 TPI tubeless-ready version which is available in the 28 inch sizes 31-622, 33-622, 40-622 and the 27.5 inch sizes 47-584. For this review, we tested the 33-622 version because it currently has the best availability.

The Terreno Dry is equipped with Vittoria's Graphene 2.0 3C compound. We already know this compound from their mountain bike tires and it generally perform well although it is not the fastest compound out there.

Pro Data
The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width.

All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs.

Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load.

The performance of the tube-type Vittoria Terreno Dry is quite good, although it doesn't really excel at anything. The tread does have a high thickness of 2.8 mm (excluding the knobs) which, together with the reasonable puncture resistance score, will give good puncture resistance. On the other hand, the weight is a bit on the high side for a 33 mm strap.

We recommend this tire with a rating of 3 out of 5. The differences are still relatively small when compared to the best performing tires in the CX/Gravel category. We share all data so you can rate for yourself on the CX/Gravel overview page.
