(100% is best)
The Pro 5 is a new all-round road bike tire from Michelin, available in the 25, 28, 30, 32, and 35 mm sizes. Since we've already tested the Michelin Pro 5 in the 35 and 28 mm sizes, we already have a very good understanding of its performance in our tests. The fact that our Pro Members also voted for the 32 mm size to be tested alongside the 28 and 35 mm sizes shows that this new tire from Michelin is gaining strong interest from tire enthusiasts.

The 32 mm Pro 5 TLR is the first 32 mm tire to enter the road bike section, as we've recently changed it to support up to 32 mm tires. From now on, 20-32 mm tires will go into the road bike section, 33-50 mm into the CX/Gravel section, and 51 mm and up into the mountain bike section. As this is the first 32 mm tire in the road bike section, we'll have to compare it to other 28 and 30 mm tires for now.
If you want to compare the 35, 32, and 28 mm sizes of the Michelin Pro 5 TLR, you can use Pro View, where all 450+ tires across 5 categories can be compared in a single overview.
We're going to keep this one short. If you're looking for more information about the Michelin Pro 5, please check out our tests of the 35 mm or 28 mm Pro 5 TLR.

| The Road Bike section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Michelin Pro 5 TLR 32
(100% is best)
Now that we've also tested the 32 mm Michelin Pro 5, it's clear that the larger sizes roll faster than the smaller ones. We also see that, unlike some other brands, the bigger Michelin sizes have the same tread thickness as the smaller sizes, and this is part of the reason why the bigger sizes roll faster.
We feel most people prefer tires like this, as we've seen other brands that increase tread thickness with bigger sizes, and that the 35 (and 40) mm sizes are getting closer to touring tires in terms of tread thickness and puncture resistance.
When we compare the 32 mm Pro 5 to the 28 mm Pro 5, with both tires tested as road bike tires, we see the 32 shows slightly better performance in nearly all of our tests. With the 32 mm test, the Michelin Pro 5 has become even more interesting thanks to its very balanced performance, reasonable price, and a tread that's much wider than 90% of competing tires.
