- Veloflex Corsa Race (clincher) 25
(100% is best)

This is a test of the clincher version of the Veloflex Corsa Race that was released back in 2020. In Veloflex's range of clincher road bike tires, the Corsa Race fits right between the ultra-thin Veloflex Record and the Veloflex Corsa Evo which is a bit heavier and targeted more towards training and amateur cyclists. The Corsa Race can be compared best to popular tires like the Continental Grand Prix 5000, Schwalbe Pro One, and the Vittoria Corsa.
We already tested the TLR version of the Corsa Race (read our review) a couple of months back and found it to be one of the lightest tubeless-ready road bike tires on the market. Despite the low weight, the puncture resistance was very good, and rolling resistance also came in very strong. The biggest weakness seemed to be the tread thickness that's a bit thinner than tires from the competition. As the clincher version is very similar to the TLR version, we do not expect big differences between these tires.
Both the clincher and TLR version of the Corsa Race use a 350 TPI corespun casing, RKB (Resilient Kinetic Belt) protection belt, and a "natural rubber and silica exclusive compound". The main difference is in the Air-Lock layer that's left out in the clincher version, and which results in a savings of about 25 grams for the 25-622 version.
The clincher version of the Corsa Race is available in both the 23-622, and 25-622 sizes. Both sizes are available with black, or light-colored sidewalls that expose the 350 TPI corespun casing.

The Road Bike section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Veloflex Corsa Race (clincher) 25
(100% is best)
The clincher version of the Veloflex Corsa Race performs very similarly to the TLR version of the Corsa Race (read our review) in nearly all of our tests. The main difference is a slightly higher rolling resistance which can be attributed to the 100 grams butyl inner tube that we use for the clincher tests. When you combine the Corsa Race clincher with some latex or light TPU tubes, rolling resistance will also be nearly spot-on between these tires.
When compared to the competition, the Veloflex Corsa Race isn't the absolute best performer in our tests, but we still feel these are great tires. When you're not racing against the clock, the small differences will be hard to notice. What you do get is exclusive, hand-made 350 TPI cotton tires, that are actually made in Italy.
