The 32 mm version of the GravelKing has been added to the database to make it easier to compare them to other tires. This tire was originally tested for the GravelKing 32, 35, 40 mm Comparison special article that is only available to Pro Members. The 32 mm version also has been added to the database which means you can find test results of the 32, 35, and 40 mm versions of the GravelKing on our website and compare them to any other tire.

The Panaracer GravelKing is one of the most requested tires in the CX/Gravel section. The bigger sizes of the GravelKing (32 and up) come with a TLC (tubeless-compatible) casing that should make it easy to set these up tubeless. You can choose between brown sidewalls for a classic look or black sidewalls for a more modern look.

Just like pretty much all Panaracer gravel tires, the GravelKing uses the "ZSG Natural Compound" that, according to Panaracer, offers low rolling resistance and high durability. The casing is an "Anti-Flat Casing" with an extra layer of puncture protective fabric that runs from bead to bead.

In the 622 (28") size, the GravelKing TLC is available in 32, 35, and 40 mm wide versions. Wider versions (38, 42, 48 mm) are available in the 584 (27.5") size.

The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width.

All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs.

Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load.

The small 32 mm version of the Panaracer GravelKing TLC has a different construction than the bigger versions (35 mm and up). It looks like the 32 mm version of the "regular" GravelKing is actually a "Plus" version as it comes with an additional layer of puncture protective material under the tread. The obvious result is better puncture resistance and higher rolling resistance than the bigger versions of the GravelKing

Panaracer probably adds the extra layer of puncture protective material only to the smaller versions as the pressure per mm² of surface contact area is higher with smaller tires. The higher contact pressure can be a problem when riding on gravel as the gravel has a better chance of cutting through the tires when the contact pressure is higher.

Compare on the comparison section: GravelKing 32 vs 35 vs 40 mm.
